Conditioning Your Left Hand

Here is a warm-up for the one-finger-per-fret still exercises, using only three fingers on the left hand.

It's easy to underestimate how much strain this puts on your left hand when you first start these exercises, so you might want to try the warm-up first.


First, place your index finger just behind the 5th fret of the high string.

Next, place your middle finger just behind the 6th fret.

Next, place your ring finger just behind the 7th fret.

Try this for a minute at a time, three minutes total, before going on to the next exercise.
