Power Chords - 2

Power Chord Progressions

The first chord progression we will look at is 'D' to 'A.'

'D' Power Chord:

'A' Power Chord:

In both of these chords the index is on the 5th fret, and the little or ring finger is on the 7th fret. The 5th fret is the 2nd inlayed dot on most guitar necks, and the 7th fret is the 3rd inlay.

The 'D' chord has its root on the 5th (A) string. The 'A' chord has its root on the 6th (lowest) string.

Example 2 - Chords at the 5th fret
